If you know Jura, you know Overnoy.

And if you don’t, this is a good place to start.

Pierre Overnoy, based in Pupillin, a tiny village in eastern France, Overnoy was decades ahead of his time: working organically since the 1960s, refusing chemical inputs, bottling wines without sulphur, and embracing native yeasts, old barrels, and long elevage.

The wines are soulful, vibrant, uncompromising and always compelling. They age remarkably well, especially the ouillé (topped-up) Savagnin and the oxidative Vin Jaune, which take on layers of spice, walnut and wild citrus as they evolve.

We’ve just unlocked a small parcel of back vintages, all impeccably stored – including a few rare 50cl bottles from the early 2000s. It’s the kind of lineup I’d have dreamt of tasting as a sommelier in my twenties.

A Few Favourites
🔸 Vieux Savagnin Ouillé 2000 & 2010 (50cl) – Intense, nutty, saline — time-stopping wines.
🔸 Vin Jaune 2006 & 2010 (50cl) – Rare, savoury, oxidative Savagnin for long contemplation.
🔸 Arbois Pupillin Trousseau-Poulsard 2018–2020 (75cl) – Lifted red fruit, pepper, and Jura funk.
🔸 Arbois Pupillin Chardonnay 2012 (75cl) – Stony, leesy, and precise – like Puligny with a wild streak.
