Vajra is based in Vergne, in the Barolo commune’s western edge. The family has farmed vineyards in the area for decades, and Aldo Vajra took over the estate in the late 1960s, pushing organic farming, massal selection and a focus on terroir-driven expression.

Bricco delle Viole is Vajra’s flagship cru: high altitude (400–480m), Sant’Agata marls, low yields, and a long growing season. It lives above the fog line, which gives early sun, late shade, and superb aromatics. The site “taught patience,” as Vajra puts it, the wines often begin delicate, then build depth and intensity in bottle.
